| First held in 1999, the Hats Off for Thomas Gala (formerly the Hat Mixer) raises funds to help children with cancer. Our desire is to directly affect the quality and enjoyment of life. The lives of the sick children and their families. A moment of happiness, a smile, in the midst of months or years of darkness is priceless.
Thanks to everyone's generosity, 100% of the auction proceeds will benefit Children’s Memorial Hospital, pediatric cancer patients and local families.
It's All About Kids is a 501C3 non-for-profit corporation devoted to helping children with cancer and their families. We are a 100% volunteer organization. Those who work for us give to us.
The 2008 Gala, "The Sun will Come Out Tomorrow" was a huge success! Everyone celebrated the child stars of yesteryear along with the hope of one more day! Sarah Drennen, Woodstock High School singing sensation, started things off with a tribute to "Annie" singing The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow and Maybe. The musical talents of Rick Cartright was a shining star performance. Our main entertainment was the always uplifting and fun antics of the Bucket Boys!! They even had a little fun with Aaron Shepley, Mayor of Crystal Lake. Derek and The Mid-Life Crisis entertained us with great dancing music. A special thanks to "Our Gang" of Little Rascal volunteers who worked hard creating an evening of fun. All of the entertainers were the stars of our volunteer group!!
The new McHenry County Living Magazine, Winter issue, had a great article on the 2007 Hats Off For Thomas Gala. Pictured with the article, are the 2007 children, the Lawn Chair Dad's (the entertainment!) and the Walmart group that donated a large sum to the event! This is a complimentary magazine so pick one up at your favorite retailer!
This year we are supporting 3 families! One from Algonquin, one from Woodstock, and one from Huntley! These children need our help. Our goal is to eventually be able to help one family per school district in McHenry County. In order to do this, we need your help!
A special thanks to the Mens Warehouse located on route 14 in Crystal Lake who gave a $20 discount for the Hats of For Thomas Gala. The Comfort Inn and Suites gave a $79 rate per night if you just mentioned that you would be attending the It's All About Kids Hat's Off for Thomas Gala! Also check out our Special Thanks page for all the generous donors who helped create the fabulous evening!
Auction item donations are now being accepted for next years Gala!!!
